What the Developer Plan Actually Is
Most AI platforms sit between you and the model provider and take a cut of every token that passes through. The Developer plan removes us from that equation entirely. You connect your own API keys — Anthropic, Google, OpenAI, OpenRouter, Perplexity, xAI — and your calls go directly to the provider. Zero markup. Your bill from Anthropic is your bill from Anthropic. We're not in the middle.
What you get from CharmIQ: the full workspace. Multi-model orchestration. Every application, every collaboration feature, every Charm capability. The interface, not the inference.
Your Data Goes Where You Want It
When you use CharmIQ on the Developer plan with your own keys, your Reference Materials don't live in our infrastructure — they go into yours. Upload a document with your OpenAI key connected and it syncs to your own OpenAI Vector Store. Connect Google via Vertex AI and it routes to your own GCS bucket.
Getting your own documents into OpenAI's Vector Store is, frankly, a pain. Most developers either skip it or build something custom to manage it. The Developer plan solves that incidentally — you get a clean interface for your work, and your data ends up exactly where you'd want it anyway.
CharmIQ as Your Documentation Layer
You can keep all your documentation in CharmIQ and read and write it from anywhere via MCP.
Working in Claude Code? VS Code with an AI extension? Any tool that speaks MCP can connect to your CharmIQ workspace. Write your specs, architecture notes and technical documentation in CharmIQ. Your AI tools in other environments can read and update that documentation directly without you switching context or copy-pasting anything.
For nine dollars a month, you have a documentation layer that talks to everything.

The one thing the Developer plan doesn't include: the ability to buy CharmIQ credits. You don't need them — you have your own keys. Missing or invalid keys are a hard error, not a silent fallback. If a key is wrong, CharmIQ tells you immediately rather than quietly degrading.
